Forbici is bringing Manchester together this festive season with a collaboration that’s all about food and community.. Partnering with Eat Well MCR, the Neapolitan pizzeria is inviting locals to eat well and do good, with a festive menu and activities that give back to the city it calls home.
At the heart of the collaboration is The Merry Mancunian, a Napoli x Manchester festive mix that’s as joyful as it sounds. Built on Forbici’s signature biga base, the pizza features a red cabbage compote cream sauce, creamy fior di latte, and is generously topped with porchetta and stuffing. For every Merry Mancunian sold, £1 will be donated directly to Eat Well MCR,.
The festive fun begins on 24th November with A Week of Eating Well – a citywide treasure hunt where Forbici will hide a £25 voucher somewhere in Manchester each day. Clues will be shared on Forbici’s social channels, and for every voucher found, the restaurant will donate an additional £25 to Eat Well MCR.
Then, on Friday 28th November, Forbici will unveil its full festive menu, featuring not only The Merry Mancunian but also a Napoli-inspired seasonal special, festive desserts that marry Manchester and Naples, and a limited-edition seasonal beer pairing to complete the lineup.
Toni Dennan, Head of Marketing at Forbici, said: “Manchester’s community spirit is what makes this city so special. Although our roots are in Naples, we’ve grown in Manchester, and partnering with Eat Well MCR is our way of supporting the people who’ve made us feel at home. The Merry Mancunian is a small celebration of that shared sense of togetherness.”
Mary-Ellen McTague, founder of Eat Well MCR, said: “It means so much to us when restaurants choose to get behind our work. The hospitality community in Manchester has always been incredibly generous, and it’s brilliant to see another fabulous restaurant stepping up to support people in our city who are having a tough time.”
Eat Well MCR is a Manchester-based collective of chefs and hospitality professionals providing care and comfort through food. Since 2020, they’ve delivered over 150,000 nourishing, chef-made meals to families living in temporary accommodation, women in refuge, food bank users, parents staying with seriously ill children, and young people facing complex challenges.
Recent projects have included community cooking sessions for care-experienced young people, festive dinners for care leavers, and weekly deliveries to schools, hostels and refuges.
Running from 24th November through the festive season, Forbici invites Mancunians to eat well, do good, and share in a little festive fun – all while supporting a charity that makes a real difference across the city.
