The Amy Winehouse Band – Amy’s original band who were with her live and on record all the way from her very beginnings performing in London pubs to the GRAMMYs and the Glastonbury Pyramid Stage – have announced a UK tour.
Taking place in November & December 2025, the tour will see the band perform in theatres across the country, whilst select dates will also see Amy’s music performed as never before, featuring live symphony orchestras.
Extra special for Birmingham and Liverpool, the shows in these cities will feature their local orchestras, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra respectively.
The tour will culminate in a particularly poignant performance at the Roundhouse in Camden, Amy’s home, where she made her last public performance in 2011 appearing on stage to perform with her goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield.
Keeping Amy’s musical legacy alive and providing younger fans with the chance to hear these modern classic songs in person for the first time, The Amy Winehouse Band perform songs from throughout her extraordinary career including ‘Rehab’, ‘Back to Black’, ‘Tears Dry On Their Own’, ‘Valerie’, ‘Love Is A Losing Game’ and more.
The band are led by Amy’s long term musical director and bass player Dale Davis, and both he and the band were musical consultants on the recent biopic ‘Back to Black’ starring Marisa Abela and directed by Sam-Taylor Johnson.
On the UK tour, Dale says:
“Myself and Amy’s band and so excited to be touring the UK celebrating her music and legacy with you all but this time in the company of some of the country’s greatest symphony orchestras. It’s going to be very special to perform her songs including these new stunning orchestral arrangements.
The orchestral sound was used on Amy’s recordings but we didn’t ever have the chance to play them this way with her. It will be lovely to do that now.“
The band are fronted by the incredible vocalist Bronte Shandé, who Dale came across in much a similar way to how he originally came across Amy, whilst the show features on-screen visuals and unique footage.
The Amy Winehouse Band have played select shows around the UK previously, as well as touring across Europe and performing at festivals since 2022.
On performing her music again, the band told The Times ‘We’re enjoying the music afresh and seeing it played for new ears and old ears’, with audiences having told them ‘… this is the closest we can get to seeing Amy.’
