Local Magicians To Visit England’s 3rd Oldest Magic Club for Manchester’s Day of Magic

Magic enthusiasts, professional performers and curious beginners invited to a day of tricks, treasures, expert knowledge and magical entertainment at Manchester’s Irish World Heritage Centre.

Manchester is set to become the centre of the magical world this November as the North West Magic Dealers Day returns to the city on Sunday, 15 November 2026, bringing together magicians, collectors, aspiring performers and lovers of the mysterious for a packed day of magical discovery.

Organised by The Order of the Magi, Manchester’s historic magic society, the event will take place from 10am to 5pm at the Irish World Heritage Centre, 1 Irish Town Way, Queens Road, Cheetham Hill, Manchester, M8 0AE.

With more than 20 stalls showcasing magic shops, specialist dealers, tricks, books, stage props and second-hand bargains, the event promises something for everyone, from seasoned professional entertainers looking to expand their repertoire to complete beginners taking their first steps into the fascinating world of magic.

Discover the secrets behind the magic

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of magical merchandise and resources, including close-up magic and street magic tricks, stage illusions and performance props, books and DVDs featuring the knowledge and experience of some of the greatest names in magic.

There will also be specialist resources for psychic entertainers, hypnotists and other mystery performers, making the event a valuable opportunity for entertainers working across a range of disciplines.

Beyond the stalls, visitors can look forward to the popular Magical Jamming Sessions, where magicians of all abilities can meet, exchange ideas, share experiences and learn from one another in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Whether visitors are looking for a particular trick, seeking inspiration for a new routine or simply fascinated by how magic works, there will be plenty to discover.

A historic Manchester magic society celebrates its legacy

The event is organised by The Order of the Magi, one of England’s oldest magical societies and a long-established part of Manchester’s entertainment heritage.

Founded more than a century ago, the society is celebrating its remarkable history of magic in Manchester, with the organisation marking its 116th year and also referring to more than 117 years of magical activity in the city.

The Order of the Magi is the North West’s oldest magic society and is proud of its Manchester roots. Its membership extends throughout Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Yorkshire and surrounding areas, bringing together performers with a shared passion for magic, mystery and the art of entertaining.

Discounted membership applications will be available to visitors attending the Dealers Day, offering magicians and aspiring performers an opportunity to find out more about joining the society and becoming involved in its activities.

The society welcomes magicians, mind readers and mystery entertainers at different stages of their careers, from newcomers eager to learn to established professionals looking to connect with fellow performers.

Organisers said: “If Harry Potter wanted to become a better wizard, he’d love the Order of the Magi’s North West Magic Dealers Day.”

Celebrating local magical talent

The North West has a thriving community of magical entertainers, and the Order of the Magi’s membership reflects the breadth of talent across the region.

The society’s current President, Matt Price, lives in Saddleworth, while Entertainments and Public Relations Officer Jonathan Royle and Secretary and Webmaster Stuart Cassels are both based in Rochdale.

Competitions Organiser Max Townsend hails from Stockport, while Prestwich-based magician Guy Samuels, a recent Comedy Magic Champion, is among the local performers associated with the society.

Another notable member is Anthony Parks of Oldham, this year’s winner of the society’s Overall Best Cabaret Magic Act title.

Members also live in Bury, Bolton, Preston and across Greater Manchester, Yorkshire and Lancashire, reflecting the society’s regional reach and its continuing role in bringing the North West’s magical community together.

The Dealers Day provides an opportunity for this community to meet, share its enthusiasm and encourage the next generation of magical performers.

Admission is priced to make the event accessible to individuals and families alike.
